Often referred to as pyrolusite, manganese it is a black amorphous mineral comprised of manganese dioxide. It is distinguishable for it’s fine fibrous acicular crystals. It will sometimes leave black powder residue behind when handled. Metaphysical practitioners will use this mineral for protection and to strengthen eye-sight and the walls of the blood veins. It is known for grounding during meditation and useful for clearing negative energies.
