Rutilated quartz is quartz that contains needle-like inclusions of rutile. Rutile ranges in colour from golden to copper to dark brown. The rutile may be distributed randomly or in bundles. They often form hexagonal patterns — the threads meet at 60 or 120 degree angles.
Rutile is said to intensify the power of the quartz crystal and to amplify thought and emotions for healing. It is used to deepen altered states and for clairvoyance, telepathy and insight.
