This unique stoneware, exquisitely hand-crafted from single pieces of metamorphic onyx, is from Balochistan Province in Western Pakistan. Skilled artisans turn solid stone blocks on lathes to create beautiful bowls, plates and other stoneware to support their family and community. Use it to store jewellery and accessories, display candles and flowers or hold treats on a coffee table.
White onyx is a translucent, semi-precious gemstone of quartz variety with an extremely fine crystal formation, it displays shades of banded white and may contain natural amber or honey coloured markings. Each unique piece is richly polished.
The beautiful polished surface of natural stoneware will stay shiny if used to serve dry items like crackers or popcorn though acid in foods such as salads, vegetables and soups will dull the surfaces they come in contact with over time. Also, metal utensils will scratch the surface. We recommend cleaning with a damp cloth. No microwave ovens, dishwashers, or chemical detergents please!
